4. Privacy by Design
KindUp is built with privacy as a core principle:
- Anonymous by Default: All completed kind acts appear anonymously in the community feed. No user is publicly credited.
- No Leaderboards: Recognition points and streaks are private to each user. There are no public rankings or competitions.
- Minimal Data Collection: We only collect data necessary to provide the service.
- Private Profiles: User profiles are not publicly searchable or browsable.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share limited information in the following circumstances:
- Mission Participants: When you accept or create a mission, your display name is shared with the other participant for coordination purposes.
- Service Providers: We use trusted third-party services for email delivery (Resend) and AI-powered features (Groq). These providers process data only as necessary to provide their services.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal processes.

- Passwords are hashed using bcrypt before storage
